Whats New In Career Services

There are several new changes within Montana Tech Career Services, including two new staff members.  Administrative Associate for both Career Services and the Office of Alumni Affairs, Angie O’Neill joined our ranks in May after transferring from the University of Montana’s Alumni office.  A Butte native, Angie enjoys being such a vital member of the of two Montana Tech teams.

Kathlene McNamee, Program Coordinator, came on board the end of June.  After leaving the United Way of Butte and Anaconda as its Executive Director, she spearheads the Montana Tech career fairs and on-campus recruiting efforts.  A long-time member of the Tech family, Kathlene is probably best known as an adjunct psychology teacher on the South Campus – a post she has held since 1995.

In addition, Kasey Kaszycki, Stephanie Sloan, and Cathy Westfall are the Career Assistants student employees this academic year.

Next, the Career Services website has a whole new look.  In an effort to be more user friendly, these pages host a wealth of information for students, alumni, families, employers, faculty and staff.  Since “going live,” the site will continue to grow with new content and pictures depicting the various career events throughout the year.
To help Career Services reach more students across all disciplines, the web pages sport an added feature CareerSpots – Job Search Videos.  Each video is action-packed and less than two-minutes in length.  So, no matter your question – you have concise information at your fingertips 24/7/365!

To get the most out of the website and our office, you should CREATE an account in DIGGERecruiting!  This essential step opens a world of opportunities to you – regardless of your current year in school.  Career Services is MORE than just placement ….  Through your DIGGERecruiting account you will be able to access the latest information, such as: which companies will be on campus and when; conduct comprehensive job searches by viewing current local, regional, and national openings; discover where relevant workshops on resumes, cover letters, and interviewing techniques will be held; see what resources are available to you in both book and video form from our office; and most importantly, you will receive periodic e-mail alerts on relevant career topics and more!

If you’d rather talk to a real, live person, our friendly staff awaits your questions in Engineering Hall Room 103, or give us a call at (406) 496-4140.
