The much anticipated home opener for the Montana Tech men’s basketball team under new head coach, Aaron Woliczko, proved to be frustrating loss. Most of the damage came from the hands of former Frenchtown star, Nate Lebsock, who posted thirty points for Dickinson, while his teammate, Matt Lee, posted twenty-five points. Kellen Hasquet led the Orediggers with twenty-two points in the 91-79 non-conference loss.
Although the Diggers jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, that would be the only time they were ahead due to the hot-hands of the Blue Hawks who shot a smooth 53% from the field.
Senior Dirk Anderson and Tyree Haynie were the only other Orediggers to post double digit scores with eleven and nineteen points, respectively. Anderson also tallied two blocks for the night.
Tech is currently 0-2, having lost in an exhibition game to Boise State earlier in the week. The Orediggers are on the road until Thanksgiving weekend when they return to the HPER floor.
