Chalk up another win for Student Activities Council (SAC) Director, Krista McBride. In the midst of homecoming festivities, Krista managed to pull off yet another successful event: Casino Night.
To kick off the evening, students lined up in the Digger Den to claim their free starter bag of poker chips, then eagerly sought out that lucky table. The house hosted games ranging from Roulette to Craps, and Black Jack to Texas Hold ‘Em, allowing players of all kinds to quickly settle in and place their bets. It didn’t take long for the dice to roll and the chips to fly, though volunteers from Chi Alpha ensured fair play as they dealt the night away. Not to mention, these honest dealers rotated over 90 players in just a few hours!
As the stakes crept higher and the skillful few grew braver, the gamblers’ true intentions became clear. Players were in it to win it, and their hearts were set on the high-roller prizes. When the tables shut down, students scrambled to cash in all their chips for paper money slips. Then the real games began. SAC auctioned off a handful of stellar prizes, including a PS3, a laptop, a DVD player, and a flat-screen TV. Let’s just say a select group of individuals couldn’t hold their poker faces after walking home with such a steal. All in all, the night was definitely a hit. Be sure to check out more SAC activities to come, and kudos to Chi Alpha for stepping in once again to lend a helping hand!
