Great gifts for gamers

Alan Barthelmess
If you missed the black Friday this season and were hoping to save some cash on gifts for games then never fear. If you missed Cyber Monday then you may possibly have a problem, nah just kidding. There are all kinds of deals going on at many retailers like GameStop, Play n Trade, Hastings, even Wal-Mart. I find the best deals are either online at Amazon unless one of the previous retailers is doing a massive sale such as buy 2 get 1 free or half off.

I have a few recommendations for this holiday season that many gamers may not have thought of. A great game for all platforms is Transformers War for Cybertron, after countless disappointing attempts to make a decent transformer game War for Cybertron is game fans have been waiting anxiously for. This game is not only a great game all around in multiplayer, campaign and escalation modes but it also has a lowered price for being out for about a year now.
If you want to buy someone a shooter game without breaking the bank try Shadowrun. This is a round based shooter that mixes magic spells like teleport, healing, summoning demons with tactical weapons such as guns, gliders, enhanced vision and of course grenades. Each turn you can earn cash buy doing various things and spending the cash on items in game items during the next turn. First team to win 6 rounds wins the game. The best part is this game is really cheap and a lot of fun.
Ace combat is an inexpensive game for those players out there that like to fly jets and shoot down their foes, perhaps a Final Fantasy title for the RPG players out there. In previous articles I have raved about how great supreme commander 2 is for Xbox and PC, that game would be great for the strategy lovers out there.
If you are ever in doubt of what to get then gift cards are a great selection, say GameStop or Play n Trade even. Wal-Mart should be a last resort, though their ability to try to keep up with competitive gaming prices is a joke. There are always Microsoft points and iTunes cards as well.
