Montana Tech’s three seniors, Katie Daly, Cassie Hodges, and Savanna Lester, could not have had a better way to end their Oredigger volleyball careers as they did Thursday evening. The Diggers tore apart winless Western in straight games by scores of 25-12, 25-14, and 25-20. To compliment the senior recognition before the game, Daly and Hodges led the team for kills with 15 and 14, respectively, while Lester tallied 11 digs for the night. Daly also accounted for 4 of the teams 8 blocks.
Kiara Ross ran the offense for the night and dished out 37 of the 42 assists of the night. Ross also had 9 digs in the match. Shersteen Cline slammed down 8 kills while sending away 4 service aces through a combination of jump serves. Lacey Phelan played a consistent all around game totaling 5 kills, 4 assists, 10 digs, and 2 blocks to round everything out.
The easy win for the Orediggers pushed their overall win percentage above .500, setting the final tally at 14-13. In the Frontier Conference, Montana Tech stands at 6-8 and will travel to Lewiston, Idaho, where they will meet Westminster in the first round of the conference play-offs.
