Just recently I found a great deal on a Sony PS3, so I hit amazon.com to find some cheap games. I was able to acquire four great games for less than a hundred bucks, some really neat titles that each jump around the typical gaming genres.
The first game I honed in on was “Lair”, a mid evil game where you are a burner. A burner is a sky rider that commands a dragon mount and torches the sky. This game was given harsh reviews because it was claimed that it is ridiculously hard to control your dragon and you never know where you’re going. Honestly I have no idea what the major reviews were talking about as the dragon was fairly easy to control and there is a yellow arrow in the upper right hand corner of the screen always pointing towards your objective. The graphics are pretty good and the game play is fun, it is just a lot take in memorizing the control for your dragon when it’s in a dog fight, in the air, or on the ground. Once you’ve mastered all that it is all downhill from there and you can enjoy scorching the skies.
I’ve mentioned the PS3 exclusive title War hawk before in a past article but have much more information on the game now. The game is online multiplayer only and its different kinds of warfare. You start out as an infantry unit and must eliminate enemy team members; you can use either infantry weapons, ground vehicles such as tanks or jeeps, turrets, or the beloved war hawk. The war hawk is an aircraft capable of flying at great speeds and almost completely stopping for sharp turns, however what makes the war hawk even better is it can go into hover mode and fly around like a helicopter. This game has a lot of DLC (Downloadable Content) and is quite inexpensive.
I had to buy Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction after seeing some of the weapons you get. This is an action adventure game that is like playing through a Pixar adventure. It is a lot of fun and the game play is kind of cheesy but that’s some of the fun in it. You’ll unlock many different weapons that help you fly, grapple, fend off enemies, and of course dance. Yep the groovitron is a weapon that fires a huge disco ball and makes opponents get down and boogy.
The last of these amazing games is a tactical online shooter with a massive player capacity. You can have sixty four players to two hundred and fifty six in one match depending on the game type. As a player you choose from three different factions and fight for your factions honor. Each one has different weapons but they are each similar enough as to not give an advantage to one faction over another. The game has nice graphics and great game play if you are a fan of tactical shooters. These are just a few of the cheap and fun.
