When the snow melts

It is that time of year when the snow melts…. Well hopefully it is Montana after all. When the snow melts however a whole new range of possibilities opens up. For a start the mountains surrounding us become much more accessible, especially for those that do not have four wheel drive vehicles. For those students that are not local to the butte area I highly recommend that you try hiking t the lady of the Rockies. You can either walk up the face of the mountain or take a bus ride from our chamber of commerce around the back of the mountain.

For the marksmen or the hunters that would like to keep in practice there are many very nice shooting ranges or areas that are great for recreational shooting. In fact there is a range that is not far from tech, simply a few miles behind the M. For the snowmobilers it is time to hang up the treads and switch to the wheels. Homes take is a haven for four wheeling with all trails.
My favorite sport will soon be in season for anyone who paintballs, this is the best time of year to game. There is a group that games every Wednesday also out by homes take, instructions on how to reach the area can be found at local sporting good stores or on facebook as a group called the Butte Paintballers.
Long after the snow melts the waters around Montana will become great for swimming and some of local lakes are closer then you may think. Delmo is only a few miles past homes take and Georgetown is only a little further from anaconda. For swimming I would recommend Delmo is much better suited for swimming. Let’s welcome on the spring!
