Black ops finally here!!

Alan Barthelmess
After the long months of waiting and viewing the endless teaser trailers Black Ops has finally arrived. From the creators of Call of Duty World of War has come a brand new Call of Duty game that is sure to surprise and please. After picking up my copy at the midnight release I found myself unable to put the controller down for the next 5 hours. There is so much that they have built and improved upon, without losing the basics that originally drew so many gamers in.

Black Ops has added a game mode to its playlist that has been around forever within a few other games in the past, however putting it in this game is truly the icing on the cake. They have added a skirmish mode with bots; which is pretty much playing against A.I. enemies. This allows you to learn the maps, the advantages and disadvantages of weapons, test out certain kill streak’s you’ve acquired, or just mess around with your friends without playing against other players online. This mode is a great way to hone your skills before taking it up a notch online.
Call of Duty has been known for its kill streaks ever since the first modern warfare was released. The new kill streaks in this game will surely drop your jaw from piloting helicopters to sicking the attack dogs. The kill streaks have changed in this game from activate and go to earning your kill streak and spending some time using the kill streak, it just makes it that much more enjoyable.
With a new game there are always lots to discover, the weapons for example can now be customized with your clan tag and your choice of color. One of my favorite new things to customize is the aiming reticule in your choice of scope. I personally like shooting my enemies through a Ying Yang symbol. In order to unlock all of these abilities you must level up of course and earn credits throughout the game. Everything you buy costs credits but once you’ve bought it once you can use it indefinitely, Contracts being the only exception. In the multiplayer online you can purchase multiple contracts that have specific details that you will need to complete such as “win two matches”. Each contract has a time limit to it though but the time only counts down while in a game playing.
What is a game without endless zombie killing other than a game without endless zombie killing? I’ll tell you, it’s a game without endless zombie killing and the creators of the game couldn’t imagine a game without endless zombie killing. So they added the Nazi zombie playlist to the game. With new zombies and maps to learn Nazi zombies is sure to pose a very credible challenge. If you don’t work together as a team you might as well slather yourself in bacon grease and take them on with a blunt stick because you are going to be zombie chow by wave 6 when the hounds pay you a visit.
There are new playlists online that you’ll just have to see for yourself because chances are this game is probably going to best game of 2010, the only game giving it competition is halo reach which also stands to take the prize. Overall the game is great in every aspect; game play, graphics, and creativity.
