Science Fair

Congrats to all the young kids that came from all over to compete in Tech’s science fair the week before spring break. There was an enormous amount of entries and bright ideas and experiments. It really takes us back seeing students in middle school showcasing their bright ideas in a presentation form at the science fair. Remember back in the day when we all had to attend a science fair and perform an experiment through the use of the scientific method.

Thanks to all the students who volunteered to be judges and another thanks to the tech staff for organizing and hosting the event. It was a great day for an event such as this and some of the ideas were rather remarkable. As I observed many of the finding of the young scientists I found some kids were doing experiments that were survey based, and some were doing experiments based on pure evidence. I saw a student that had run an experiment to see if the color of a candle had any effect on how long the candle would burn. It is amazing to see what young minds can come up with these days.
